Bangladesh eyes direct power transmission line with Nepal

State Minister for the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources, Nasrul Hamid, has said that Bangladesh is aiming to establish a direct transmission line to share electricity with Nepal, leveraging the geographical proximity with the neighbouring country.

“We have the opportunity of geographical proximity with Nepal as the Himalayan nation is less than 50 km away from Bangladesh. We have a continuous discussion at the government level,” Nasrul Hamid told a seminar at the Nepal Embassy in Dhaka on Saturday.
